Before break Mr. Knapke visited our Kindergarten and 1st grade #GreenonKnights classrooms to read one of his favorite Christmas books: Bear Stays Up!

Tonight we said thank you to Mrs. Potter, who served at her final Board of Education meeting. Mrs. Potter, thank you for the time, heart, and leadership you’ve given to Greenon Local Schools and the #GreenonKnights community! Please join us in thanking Mrs. Potter for her service and wishing her the very best in what’s next! We know we’ll see you around the district! Once a Knight, always a Knight!

One of our favorite traditions returned! 🎄 Our staff enjoyed surprising students with annual holiday caroling, singing classic Christmas tunes 🎶 Nights like these remind us how special our #GreenonKnights community is!

The Greenon Board of Education, with generous support from Eric Griswold with American Fidelity, hosted a staff breakfast catered from Cracker Barrel to celebrate our staff this holiday season!

Our annual snowmen were a big hit at the First Grade Musical ☃️ Mrs. Casto and her #GreenonKnights AG students measured each first grader, cut to each students individual height, and then helped the first graders paint and decorate each snowman. Our students are always so excited to give these precious snowmen to their families after the annual musical!

Our SOS (Sources of Strength) peer leaders created a fun display celebrating the many mentors who make a difference in our students’ lives. A student wrote each snowflake to honor someone who guides, supports, and inspires them.

It’s amazing to read their words and see just how many people across our Greenon community are lifting up our #GreenonKnights students!

Students from Ms. Ross, Mrs. Hill, and Mrs. Wessels’ class had a blast at the Springfield Rotary Club Christmas Party! They enjoyed playing games, creating crafts, and even got a chance to meet Santa. Thank you to the Rotary Club for spreading holiday cheer and creating such a memorable experience for our #GreenonKnights! 🎄🎅

The iSee Foundation visited our #GreenonKnights campus on Friday! The iSee Foundation provides free vision screenings to help identify students who may need glasses or further eye care. Their mission is to make sure every child has the opportunity to see clearly and succeed in school. Students then receive free glasses through the program, if they qualify.

Dr. Hundley’s Wright State University students recently visited our classrooms to lead an exciting lesson on volcanoes and the rock cycle using Play-Doh.

Our 4th grade #GreenonKnights loved getting to learn, build, and explore like real scientists! We’re grateful to Dr. Hundley — longtime educator and Greenon School Board member — for bringing this awesome learning experience to our students!

What are you most excited about as you step into the role of Assistant Athletic Director at Greenon?
Going out to other sports and supporting/helping the coaches and athletes.

What’s one fun fact students might be surprised to learn about you?
I coached football here from 2018 to 2020.

What’s a goal you hope to accomplish in your first year?
Learn the ins and outs of how athletic events are run from start to finish.

Favorite sports moment — as a player, coach, or fan?
Coaching football in 2020, upsetting Cincinnati Taft, and winning the first playoff game for Greenon.

Look what Mrs. Jergens found while in Washington DC over Thanksgiving break: Addi Ricketts art work at the Capitol Building!

Mrs Easton's 8th grade Stem classes spent the weeks before Thanksgiving Break learning about renewable energy then created and tested their own wind turbine blades. Our #GreenonKnights used basic craft supplies to build their turbines. Turbines needed to be able to lift a certain amount of cargo to the top of the desks. The faster it went the more efficient it was!

You’ve probably noticed the construction happening between our K–12 Campus and the Middle School Gym! 🦺 This project is the final phase of Greenon’s Gymnasium Connector Corridor, which will fully join the Junior High Gym to the main building, now that the building project is complete and closed out. The connector will improve accessibility, enhance safety, and create a more unified campus experience for our students, staff, and community. This project is being completed by Level MB Construction and is being funded through remaining dollars from the original K–12 campus project. The project is scheduled to be wrapped up in January 2026!

As Veterans Day approaches our students and staff created a Veteran Flag Garden to honor the brave men and women who have served, and continue to serve, our country 🇺🇸 We look forward to celebrating our Veterans at our upcoming Veterans Day assemblies!

The Greenon Marching Knights performed at the Ohio Music Education Association’s state marching band finals on Sunday. They earned a superior rating, which is the highest honor a band can receive. Congratulations to the Marching #GreenonKnights and good luck at MSBA championships next weekend!

Last week, our 7th grade #GreenonKnights art students from Mrs. Green's class explored the Springfield Museum of Art! For many, it was their first visit to an art museum — and they loved every minute of it! 🎨

We’re excited to invite our community to Greenon’s District STEAM Night– a family event designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and innovation for students of all ages! Date: November 7, 2025 Time: 5:00-7:00 pm Location: Greenon K-12 Campus, 510 Enon-Xenia Rd, Enon, OH 45323 This hands-on event will feature interactive activities and engaging presentations showcasing the many STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) opportunities available right here at Greenon. Our goal is to bring PreK–12 students and families together for a night of exploration, discovery, and fun. Some of the activities you’ll find include: Snap Circuits Sphero Jousting Challenge Makey Makey Experiments Build a Bed for Goldilocks Challenge Rocket Catcher Challenge We’re also thrilled to welcome guest participants and partners: CTC – Career kits and hands-on demos Sinclair College – Flight simulators Greenon Art Department – Creative STEAM projects A Real Beekeeper – Buzz-worthy learning experience The event will feature food trucks on-site, allowing you to grab dinner or a treat while enjoying activities. To help us prepare enough materials for each activity, we kindly ask families to RSVP to STEAM Night by Friday, October 31, 2025.
