Congratulations to Greenon Junior Jyn Beverly. Jyn’s artwork “YAY!” was chosen to be shown in the Ohio Arts Council Ohio House of Representatives Artshow 🎨

This is a twice-yearly show featuring works of art from each of Ohio’s 99 House of Representatives Districts. Jyn’s artwork will represent Greenon’s district (71). A print of Jyn’s artwork will hang in the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts in Columbus. This September, Jyn will be recognized at a reception in Columbus and will be presented with a certificate and a $100 award!

On Monday, our Greenon Girls Basketball team honored our teachers and staff that are Impact Players in their lives. Shoutout to our #GreenonKnights staff members that are making a difference on and off the court 👏👏

Let’s Rally, #GreenonKnights! 🥫It’s a community-wide food drive challenge starting tomorrow! Our Knights community is going head-to-head with other local schools to see who can collect the most food for those in need: Springfield City, CTC, Shawnee, Greenon, STEM and Emmanuel Christian! All donations will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank, helping provide meals to families right here in our region. This friendly competition is part of Leadership Clark County, bringing schools together for a great cause!

👟❤️ Shoes 4 the Shoeless ❤️👟 We are incredibly grateful to the Shoes 4 the Shoeless organization for partnering with us to provide shoes for students in our community. A huge thank you as well to our Greenon Boys Baseball team for volunteering their time to help make this event such a success.

Congratulations to Trenton Barnett, Greenon’s Martin Luther King Jr. Peacekeeper Award winner! Selected by the #GreenonKnights staff, Trenton represents Greenon alongside one student from each Clark County school. The awards are presented at a luncheon hosted by Clark State in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s lasting legacy.

Before break Mr. Knapke visited our Kindergarten and 1st grade #GreenonKnights classrooms to read one of his favorite Christmas books: Bear Stays Up!

Tonight we said thank you to Mrs. Potter, who served at her final Board of Education meeting. Mrs. Potter, thank you for the time, heart, and leadership you’ve given to Greenon Local Schools and the #GreenonKnights community! One of our favorite traditions returned! 🎄 Our staff enjoyed surprising students with annual holiday caroling, singing classic Christmas tunes 🎶 Nights like these remind us how special our #GreenonKnights community is!

The Greenon Board of Education, with generous support from Eric Griswold with American Fidelity, hosted a staff breakfast catered from Cracker Barrel to celebrate our staff this holiday season!

Our annual snowmen were a big hit at the First Grade Musical ☃️ Mrs. Casto and her #GreenonKnights AG students measured each first grader, cut to each students individual height, and then helped the first graders paint and decorate each snowman. Our students are always so excited to give these precious snowmen to their families after the annual musical!
