Last week, students from Wright State University, from our Board member Dr. Hundley’s classes, visited Greenon Elementary! They visited both our 6th grade and Kindergarten #GreenonKnights! They taught lessons on fossils and seasons. Some classes explored fossils by learning about paleontologists, coloring fossils, and participating in a hands-on Play-Doh dig activity, while other classes focused on the four seasons through a sensory bin, a game, and creating a season wheel to discuss months, clothing, and holidays for each season. Thank you to these Wright State students, our students look forward to their visit each year!

Celebrate the rich heritage of agriculture in our area and inform students about this equipment to prevent accidents. We are approaching the spring planting season, where many of us will share the road with farm equipment. We all want to get where we are going safely!

Our 3rd graders wrapped up finishing Because of Winn-Dixie in the best way! Our #GreenonKnights students reflected on lessons learned by creating their own “Mistake Trees,” inspired by the story’s message about learning and growing. They also enjoyed a party just like the characters, with all the same foods, and even watched the movie adaptation together!

Congratulations to #GreenonKnights Junior Jyn Beverly. Jyn participated in the Ohio Governor's Youth Art Exhibition. The Governor’s show is a prestigious show that features artwork for Ohio high school students in 9th-12th grade.

Participants must go through multiple rounds of rigorous judging to make the final show. Jyn had two pieces, “Phases”, and “Let Time Pass” that qualified for the state level of the Governor’s Show.

A Message from Joe and Brenda Hobbs for our #GreenonKnights
To the Greenon Local Schools and Community,
The Hobbs Family would like to thank the Greenon community for making another Liam Hobbs Memorial tournament such a success.
We would like to thank the Greenon Youth Wrestling program for helping make this a two day event with the addition of the youth tournament. So much work goes in to making this happen, and it’s not lost on us how many people went above and beyond. Thank you to Daniel Trainer, Chase Trainer, Evan Davis and Shawn Lemaster. The wrestling program is lucky to have you as coaches. Thank you to Paula Trainer, Tori Lemaster, and Emily Hakes, the unsung heroes doing so much behind the scenes. We see you, ladies.
Thanks to Brandon Hakes of B-Right 3d, LLC for providing the flip disks for the officials, and thank you to Cheer coaches Megan Jackson,Holly Beverly, Sarah Debolt and the Greenon High School Cheer squad for opening ceremonies. Things like this set a tournament apart.
Thank you to all of our Friends and family that volunteered for the hospitality room, 50/50 sales, and concessions. You all show up big for us.
Thank you to the high school wrestlers that stepped up and officiated the youth tournament. Reffing is a thankless job, and the youth tournament could not have happened without you, so thank you very much. You guys did a great job.
Thanks to Steve and Brooke Sexton for making shirts for the tournament. It’s awesome to see these shirts at other tournaments and out in the world.
Thank you Brandon Weems and Greg West. You will rarely attend a Greenon sporting event without one or both of these gentlemen there. You go above and beyond.
And lastly, thank you to all who donated and made it possible for us to give Four Liam Hobbs Courage Awards with a scholarship. This is an amazing way to honor our son's memory.
Our hearts are full.
GO KNIGHTS!!

Our #GreenonKnights Kindergarteners had an absolute blast participating in Global Play Day — building, creating, imagining, and most importantly… PLAYING! To make it even more special, our 6th graders came down to join the fun! Watching our older students connect with our youngest learners was a great reminder that play builds friendships at every age.
