2 men and women standing with retirement gift

Greenon Local Schools recently celebrated Mrs. Annette Steiner for her exceptional service and leadership as she retired on December 31. Over the past five years, as Technology Director, Mrs. Steiner joined the district at a pivotal time and quickly provided the stability, direction, and clear vision needed to move Greenon forward. Known for her intelligence, strategic thinking, and willingness to make tough decisions when necessary, she led with confidence and helped ensure the district was prepared for both immediate technology needs and long-term success.

Among her many accomplishments, Mrs. Steiner successfully guided the district through the transition into a new building, ensuring the move was seamless from a technology standpoint. Under her leadership, Greenon also achieved 1-to-1 technology for students—an important milestone that has transformed teaching and learning for both students and staff. Perhaps most importantly, she leaves Greenon in a stronger place than she found it, with solid systems, a clear vision, and a firm foundation for the future.

As we celebrate Mrs. Steiner’s well-deserved retirement, we also look ahead with excitement to the future of our technology department. Garett Meford has stepped into the role of Technology Director after serving the district as Assistant Technology Director for the past eight years. During that time, Garett played a key role in repairing and maintaining devices, supporting the transition to our new building, helping implement 1-to-1 technology, and responding to countless day-to-day needs across the district.

We are also pleased to welcome Caleb Carter as our Technology Assistant. Together, Garett and Caleb will continue building on the strong foundation established by Mrs. Steiner, ensuring our students and staff are well supported moving forward. We thank Mrs. Steiner for her years of service and wish her all the best in retirement, while looking forward to this next chapter for Greenon Technology.
