Greenon Local Schools is excited to announce that Spencer Wheeler has been selected as the next School Resource Officer (SRO) serving the district’s K–12 Campus.

Wheeler has eight years of law enforcement experience with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and has spent the past four years as a School Resource Officer with the Clark County Educational Service Center. A 2005 graduate of Greenon High School, Wheeler has remained actively involved in the community, including coaching Greenon student athletes. His connection to the district and dedication to building positive relationships with students and staff make him a valuable addition to the Greenon team.

“We are excited to welcome Spencer to Greenon Local in this important role,” said Superintendent Darrin Knapke. “His experience and deep commitment to our community will serve our students and staff well.”

The district also extends its appreciation to Deputy Vaughn Apel for his service as Greenon’s School Resource Officer. Deputy Apel has fostered strong relationships with students and supported safety initiatives throughout his tenure. Greenon Local Schools is grateful for his service and wishes him well as he transitions into his new position within the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

Wheeler will be formally introduced at the upcoming Board of Education meeting next Thursday.
