Greenon Local Schools again earned a 3.5-star rating on the 2024–25 Ohio State Report Card, maintaining its strong performance from last year and placing the district among the top-performing districts in Clark County.
“We’re proud of our students and staff for the hard work that led to these report card results, and we’re excited to build on this momentum in the year ahead,” said Superintendent Darrin Knapke.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce evaluates districts across key measures, including student achievement, early literacy, graduation rates, progress, and gap closing. Greenon’s report card reflects both areas of growth and areas for improvement.
Growth in Key Areas
Gap Closing: Increased to 4 stars and 45.8% from 3 stars and 32.6% last year — a significant improvement.
Early Literacy: Increased to 76.8% from 75.9% last year.
Consistency in Ratings
Greenon maintained its 3.5 overall star rating
Greenon maintained 3 stars in achievement and 3 stars in early literacy.
The district earned 3 stars in the newly added college- and career-readiness category, which, for the first time, counts toward the overall rating.
Areas for Growth and Looking Ahead
“While we are happy with these results, we also recognize there is always room for improvement, particularly in the progress category,” Knapke said. “We plan to carefully analyze the data and develop strategies to support student growth across all grade levels further.”
Greenon Local Schools is committed to using the state report card data as a tool to inform instruction, guide decisions, and continue growing student achievement across all grade levels. “Our focus remains on growth for all students,” Knapke said. “We’re confident that with the dedication of our staff and support from our families, we can continue to make gains in every area."
