Bus Rules & Policies


  • No cell phone use on the bus unless approved by bus driver and/or chaperone of the field trip.
  • Co-operate with the driver
  • Observe same conduct as in the classroom
  • Stay seated at all times
  • Quiet at Railroad Crossings
  • Bus driver is authorized to assign seats
  • Keep head, hands, feet and all other items inside the bus
  • Do not eat, drink, or chew gum on the bus
  • Do not smoke or use tobacco products
  • Do not vandalize the bus
  • Keep bus clean. No throwing of objects in or out of the bus
  • Be courteous: No use of profanity
  • Students are responsible for all personal items


Bus pick up and drop off at an alternative location.
  • In an emergency situation only, a parent/guardian must contact the Greenon Transportation Office 340-6352, to request a change in pick-up or drop-off location. This must be done as early as possible to get the proper information to the bus driver(s).

What happens on 2 hour delay days?
  • Add 2 hours to your child’s normal pick up time. IE normal pick up 7:30am then their pick up time would be 9:30am.
  • Morning latchkey at the elementary will be closed.
  • The bus for the students that go into schools out of the district will leave 2 hours later than normal. The bus will leave the high school at 9:15am.
What happens on 2 hour early release?
  • PK (Preschool) AM students 8:15am start time and 10:15am end time.
  • PK (Preschool) PM students 11:15am start time and 1:15pm end time. IE normal pick up time 11:50am their pick up time would be 10:45am. The difference will be 1 hour 15 minutes pick up. Drop off will be 45 minutes later
  • Latchkey will be available to all registered Latchkey students.
  • Students attending out-of district schools will be transported on their normal schedule, unless a weather emergency or other calamity may require all routes to run early.
