OHSAA Sports Physicals

The Greenon Athletic Department  will be providing the mandatory OHSAA Sports Physicals again this year.  The times and locations are:

Wednesday, May 16th at Indian Valley  from 4—6pm and Saturday, May 19th at Greenon High School from 10 am to noon.

The required paperwork will be passed out to students during the school day on Monday, May 1 both at IV and Greenon.  Those students from Indian Valley who are going on the Washington D.C. trip will receive paperwork in Mr. Whitt’s classes on Friday, May 11.

There are going to be more physicians present on Wednesday at IV so we encourage as many as possible to plan to attend that day.  The students from IV returning from the Washington D.C. trip will need to come to the Saturday morning  time.

Please read and sign all paperwork in advance—any parent not receiving paperwork can call the Athletic Office at Greenon —-340-6365.  Paperwork will also be available in the IV Main Office and in the Greenon Athletic Office.  There are NEW forms this year so make sure you have the new paperwork if you downloaded off the website.

The cost is $15  and checks should be made out to the Greenon Athletic Department.

Author Dr. Paul Mullen Visits Hustead

To kick off Right to Read Week, Hustead Elementary students met author Dr. Paul Michael Mullen on Monday, May 7th. He delivered an important message about students following their dreams! Students were encouraged to wear their favorite baseball sportswear for the school assembly.
Dr. Mullen’s Cincinnati Reds book was reviewed and approved by the Cincinnati Public Library and is a recommended read for grades 3-10. His sports books teach children values and the importance of children working hard for their dreams. Dr. Mullen also has a picture book, A Birthday Wish, for pre-school to grade 2 students that he wrote with the support of Julie Andrews’ daughter. Dr. Mullen is an acclaimed author/speaker and has spoken to a quarter million students. We were very fortunate to have him speak to our students. His books usually sell for $12.95, but Dr. Mullen offered his books to our students and their families for $10.00. The $10.00 price includes a personalized autograph with a brief inspirational message from the author. Purchasing a book was optional. You can learn more about Dr. Mullen by visiting his website at The Day I Hit A Homerun.
