Reopening Greenon Schools

UPDATED Safely ReuKNIGHTed Plan

NEW In accordance with Governor Mike Dewine's announcement on Tuesday, August 4, face coverings will be required at school for all students in grades K-12. There are limited medical exceptions for this requirement.
The official order has not yet been released by the Governor's office, and we will update our face covering policies when we are able to review that order.

NEW July 29, 2020: Knights Online Academy.

NEW 2020-2021 Family Intent Form: Complete this survey by 4 p.m. on Monday, August 10, to select your student's learning model for the 2020-2021 school year. If a form has not been completed as of Tuesday, August 11, the student will be assigned to the in-person learning model.

Dear Greenon Schools Students, Families, Staff, and Community,
One of the things we all love most about our community is the way we come together, not just when it is time to celebrate our successes, but also when it is time to weather the storms.
The start of the 2020-2021 school year is an occasion for both. We can celebrate and look forward to the new journeys and adventures ahead for our students and staff, but we must also prepare and plan for our community's children and the adults who care for them during the school days to be safe and healthy.
The Safely ReuKNIGHTed Plan is our district's blueprint to how we will accomplish that. We plan to begin the school year in session for full school days each weekday, and to be learning together in-person as much as we can. To make that happen, we have to put recommended strategies in place to reduce the risk of our children or our dedicated teachers and staff becoming ill. The plan enclosed outlines how that will work.
Please note that during this time, plans can change rapidly. We will do our best to provide consistent structure for our students, but we recognize that we must be flexible and responsive to the most up-to-date safety recommendations.
Now is the time when our ability to unite together is critical to keeping our schools a safe place to learn. Please remember - we must stay safe to stay open. We know that this year cannot look like other school years in the past, and that there will be times when we will all need to be supportive and flexible with one another to make it work. But as we have proven time and time again, we can make big things possible when we are uKNIGHTed.

Sincerely,
Darrin Knapke
Superintendent
